About the Item

A French period 18th century finely carved, marble top commode. This French period Louis XV Provincial commode, circa 1750-1760, features two smaller drawers at top, divided with plaque at center, over two full length drawers, each drawer has modeled panels, with central carved cartouches, and decorative hardware. The restored red marble top is slightly overhung with rounded front corners. This piece is presented upon petite cabriole legs terminating into whorl feet. This 18th century French country chest is so versatile; it would make a welcoming addition to an entry foyer, work great within the kitchen as additional work space and storage, or in a bedroom as a dresser, perhaps anchoring a nice piece or art or mirror above.
