About the Item

Venetian chest of drawers in walnut, burr walnut, thuja and poplar interior measuring 105 x 135 x 55 cm moved centrally in an elegant and delightful manner from the beginning of the 18th century. The incessant alternation of undulation substantiates the backbone of this wonderful and unusual piece of furniture; it is precisely the masterful quality of the carving, combined with refined cabinet-making details, such as the skilful use of thuja on the sides or in the upper part which supports the fluid linear rhythm of the walnut surfaces, which accredits the geographical area in addition to all the woods butt which are also found inside the cabinet. Very detailed chest of drawers that stands out for the elegance of the shapes, lines and execution fantasy. The superb bottom bracket, according to the Venetian compositional style, is combined with the use of high quality materials and a robust structure that create a truly unique uniqueness. The inlay technique with light wood of thuja on the walnut is a typically Venetian peculiarity. Also significant is the consonance of these types of decoration which develop with a broad design, involving the whole front, sides and upper part of the piece of furniture with decorative methods in some respects similar to those of the chests of drawers of Lake Garda The fact remains that this chest of drawers with a refined and constant decorative inlay turns out to be a great example of 18th century Italian cabinet-making.
