19th Century Baroque Revival Chest of Drawers, France, circa 1880

About the Item

Lovely petite mahogany chest of drawers from the Baroque revival period in France around 1880. A unique designed, great sized chest made of spruce and artfully veneered with fine mahogany wood. This dresser from the late 19th century - the so-called "Baroque revival " period - impresses with fantastic looking marquetry fields on both sides as well as on each drawer, which are additionally framed by delicate marple threads. Standing on four elegant curved legs, crested by chic brass mountings, this elaborately crafted chest of drawers provides three drawers with artfully designed brass applications. The still original red marble plate on top finalizes the exceptional look of this french late 19th century dresser. Due to its perfect size this baroque revival chest of drawers is ideal for the use in smaller rooms.
