This truly exquisite, early Biedermeier walnut commode was made in Vienna circa 1820-25.
Viennese Biedermeier is distinguished by their sophisticated proportions, rare and refined design and excellent craftsmanship and continue to have a great influence on modern design.
The convex three lower drawers set between ebonized columns emphasizes the elegant character of this rare piece. Top drawer has a flat front.
The commode have beautiful highly figured walnut veneer with lovely light deep amber color and 200 years old patina.
The brass hardware and locks are original.

The commode is set on graceful, high block legs that give it an elegant lightness.
