About the Item

19th century burr walnut tall chest of drawers circa 1870. Beautiful quality walnut chest of drawers which has just been fully restored in our workshop. Scandinavian chest, which can be identified because it has never been fitted with handles and opens on the key. Bookmark veneered top with moulded edge and canted corners.  Below which are 5 drawers of equal proportions beautifully veneered in burr walnut and carved keyhole.  Applied decorative carving to each side.  Plain walnut to the sides, which still shows fantastic figuring in the grain. Standing on front bracket feet with block feet to the reverse. Working locks and key. Minor restorations to woodwork. Stunning colour.
