About the Item

Chest of drawers hand-crafted in the Netherlands in the early 1800s using oak. The small commode has been bleached and has a beautiful ivory color, and packs a lot of decorative elements in a tiny package. The front and all the four sides of the top are serpentine, whereas the front corners are chamfered and bombay towards the bottom. Additionally the legs have a reverse scroll shape. All these elements add to give a lot of depth and detail to the piece. the drawers word well and can be used on a daily basis. A very unique touch was added when this particular chest was made by adding two sliding boards below the top, creating additional surfaces that can be used when needed. Overall this is an elegant and highly decorative small commode; its size and height make it a perfect piece for a bedside table / nightstand, although it could really be placed anywhere in a home as a small accent piece.
