About the Item

We would like to offer you this truly exquisite, early Biedermeier walnut commode. The piece was made in Vienna circa 1820-25. Viennese Biedermeier is distinguished by their sophisticated proportions, rare and refined design and excellent craftsmanship and continue to have a great influence on modern design. This four-drawer chest is distinguished from others by its rounded side edges emphasizes the elegant character of this rare piece. Gorgeous marquetry gives the piece a lot of splendor and a unique look. The piece have beautiful highly figured walnut veneer with lovely light amber color and 200 years old patina. The brass hardware and locks are original. The keyholes are decorated with fine inlay. Pieces of such quality as this fine, exceptional Viennese Biedermeier commode are very rare and hard to find. The commode is set on graceful, high block legs that give it an elegant lightness. Lovely highly figured book matched walnut veneer is just gorgeous. The edges on the front of the piece are delicately decorated with elaborate inlays that exemplifies the refined proportions.
