Hello, This truly exquisite, early Biedermeier walnut commode was made in Vienna circa 1820-25. Viennese Biedermeier is distinguished by their sophisticated proportions, rare and refined design and excellent craftsmanship and continue to have a great influence on modern design. The three lower drawers set between ebonized columns emphasizes the elegant character of this rare piece. The commode have beautiful highly figured walnut veneer with lovely light deep amber color and 200 years old patina. The brass hardware and locks are original. Pieces of such quality as this large, exceptional Viennese Biedermeier commode are very rare and hard to find. The commode is set on graceful, high legs that give it an elegant lightness. Lovely highly figured book matched walnut veneer is just gorgeous. This commode is an absolutely museum quality piece of furniture from early Viennese Biedermeier period. This piece will be a great complement to any elegant interior. It does not matter whether it is a classic or modern interior because Biedermeier is simply timeless.
