19th Century French Directoire Cherry Wood Commode
About the Item
19th Century French Directoire Cherry Wood Commode exudes the understated elegance for which the style is world renowned! Crafted from old growth seasoned cherry wood to produce a rich, warm tone that is conducive to blending with most any decor, it features rounded corners that flank the three full width drawers. Each drawer is framed with brass trim and fitted with neoclassical cast brass key guards and squared brass bale pulls. Four elegantly tapered turned legs provide support. Each side is fitted with a recessed panel framed in the same brass trim for a nice accent, creating visual appeal from all angles. The overall design is quite restrained, as is the style's dictum, allowing it to showcase the sheer natural beauty of the wood. The wood itself in all its natural beauty, however, steals the show! Note the hand-crafted solid panels in the back.
