About the Item

Empire chest of drawers hand-made in Italy in the early 1800s using walnut. The dresser features four inset drawers, all showing beautiful hand-made dovetail joints. The top is made of flat boards with flat edges and the sides feature inset flat panels partially frmed by square modling. On the front, as typical of the style the dresser is decorated with two columns at each of the front corners. The brass on the columns is still original, however the pulls and escutcheons have been replaced with period appropriate ones. Overall this is a beautifully made chest of drawers, that will provide plenty of space as well as decoration to any room. Its straight lines, timeless design and light wood made it a perfect piece to place with both antiques and contemporary furniture. The elegant lines made it perfect for a formal setting, however its light bleached wood make it a perfect piece for a country/rustic setting.
