19th Century Military / Campaign Chest of Drawers

About the Item

Beautiful antique campaign / military chest of drawers consisting of 2 parts. The cabinet is entirely in original condition with original removable legs. The chest of drawers has the perfect look. Warm (original finish) color and signs of use. With stamp of the Army and Navy. This was a company founded in 1871 by the military to provide military personnel with all necessities. Production was mainly in London and they also had stores in London, Paris and Leipzig. It is rare to see a chest in this used condition and still completely original. Origin: England Period: Approx. 1890-1900 Size: 99cm x 45cm x h.104cm These cabinets were taken with them in the 19th century by the British officers of the English army when they were sent to India, for example. They were made in 2 parts for easy and fast transport. The brass corners were fitted to prevent damage during transport. The idea was that they could be moved quickly this way.
