American Hepplewhite Grain Painted Chest

About the Item

Country Hepplewhite four drawer chest in original red paint of New England origin dating from 1800-1820 standing on tall arched feet. This chest is a fine piece of federal era Americana and is constructed of White Pine and Poplar and retains it’s original condition including the hardware and the step down back splash. There are no repairs or replacements on this piece and the original full coverage dry red grained paint is in excellent condition for the age. One large drawer over three graduated drawers and one board top and sides. Condition: Areas of blemishes to the original dry painted surface. Original drawer pulls are worn and a couple are separated from the back plates. One drawer pull replaced with a similar one. Drawers are all working smoothly. Nice tight solid piece. Excellent original Red paint.
