Federal Mahogany Chest
About the Item
A very nice Federal Mahogany chest 1820-30. This is a really pretty chest with beautiful carved and turned columns on tall turned legs. There is a very nice book matched figured Mahogany veneer on the drawer fronts. The case wood is made of solid Mahogany with white Pine secondary wood on the case interior and drawers. This piece is in great overall condition showing an older refinish with a very warm mellow patina. Height measurement listed is to the top of the back splash.
Condition: Older refinish, case cracks on the sides and glove box top, minor veneer repairs or replacements. Drawers are all working properly and there is one key for the drawer locks. Hardware looks to be original to the chest.
