Antique American Maple Chest-On-Chest
About the Item
The tall chest-on-chest finely crafted in maple with tiger maple drawers. The top chest has a cavetto cornice over two short drawers flanking a center short drawer with a finely carved fan with a brass knob pull. Four graduated drawers are below. The lower chest has four graduated long drawers as well. All drawers have patinated brass bat wing bales and matching escutcheons. Lacking the key. The base with fine carved bracket feet.
Dimensions: 65" high x 36" wide x 18" deep
Condition: Please review the detail photos. Various signs of age and wear including discoloration to the brass, lacking a key, old marks to the left upper and lower sides, stable age cracks and some marks on the upper right side. The upper chest second long drawer with scrapes along the top molding. There are expected scrapes, finish losses, and tip losses to the base horns (See photo) and on the base and feet. Despite the wear, the Chest presents in an admirable and historical manner.
