Antique Dutch Baroque Commode Chest of Three Drawers

About the Item

This striking baroque chest of drawers with brass key escutcheons is from Holland. The remarkable color is a newer, professionally applied painted finish with layers of cream, brick red, salmon all combining for a beautiful look of aged grace and patina. The curved bombay front is carried down through the 3 drawer fronts and rests on impressive large carved ball and claw feet. Professionally restored, this chest is strong, stable and the drawers function. Any scratches, cracks, dings, or age related separation are commensurate with age and do not detract from the beauty nor function of this lovely piece. Two keys are included to use as pulls to open the doors (locks do not function). With over 37 years of experience selling European antiques, our brick-and-mortar storefront, Round Top Ranch Antiques (located in Texas) offers one of the largest curated selections in the nation with over fifteen thousand square feet of inventory to choose from. We look forward to helping you find the perfect addition to your home or workspace.
