About the Item
The fine chest with four graduated drawers each with fine string inlay and with a pair of brass oval bales decorated with a classical columned rotunda and brass key holes. All drawers are lined in a striped fabric and the top drawer has compartments. Raised on a serpentine apron with short curved splayed legs. Some level of restoration is recommended.
Condition: Please review the detail photos. Restoration recommended. Lacking a key. Various signs of age and use including losses to the wood and veneered finish of the apron and to the legs. The top with cracks, stains and an old gouge. There have been some old restorations including a slat of wood to the backing with wear to the backing additionally. Despite the wear the Chest retains an admirable and refined presentation.
