What a find! This is one of my favorite types of antiques as it appeals to a verity of collectors, firstly you have the obvious, its a super rare highly desirable salesman sample, these were made by cabinet makers to show off the quality of their work in a smaller scale, the samples could then be taken to exhibitions and fairs and prospective clients would order full sized versions. This one has been used as mentioned as a collectors cabinet which is the second area of collectability and lastly, its full of Georgian and Victorian seashells and various stones that have been organized, there are even some feathers from a rare bird
The piece is made of flamed mahogany with satinwood boarders, it is very fine indeed
Condition wise, we have cleaned waxed and polished it, I can see one area of wax filler on the front between the drawers and the base has some fading and cracking to the veneer, otherwise its exquisite, I could have it fully restored for a very nominal fee should the new owner wish

Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
