About the Item
Antique Louis XV style commode with bronze mounts. The commode with cross-banding having mitered corners, serpentine front, recessed side panels, straight back legs and bronze mounts to the front legs. It presents with two short over two long drawers with substantial and well cast bronze hardware including three faux escutcheon plates. The apron is likewise enhanced with a bronze mount. There is some exposed peg
construction and the top is comprised of two boards.
Dimensions: 48" L, 24 3/4" D and 33" H
Condition: Please see photos for details of condition. Various signs of age and use includes missing one bail (lower left) old worm holes, no key, minor sunning to top, slight warping to serpentine front drawers, old repair to left foot, scratches and wear that are consistent with age and use and mentioned for accuracy as the presentation is exceptional and quintessentially French.
