About the Item

Antique English chest of drawers, tallboy, also known as chest on chest because it is made of 2 parts stacked on top of each other, made of solid oak and mahogany veneer, George III chest of drawers from the early 19th century, United Kingdom. This impressive and very large chest of drawers has a cornice with a moulded edge at the top, a selection of 8 drawers, 2 narrow 6 long drawers of different sizes, all with oak interiors and partly original brass swan neck handles, the sides are also finished with mahogany veneer, the whole stands on the typical bracket feet. This chest of drawers is in good unrestored antique condition, with traces appropriate to its age, over 200 years old! Not all handles are still original, a smaller handle has been placed on the bottom left, some chips and cracks in the veneer along the edges, a piece of moulding is missing on the left side, some superficial scratches and dents, but the chest of drawers still looks fantastic and is full of character. This tallboy has been polished, waxed and shined, some of the moldings around the drawers have been replaced, check the photos for more details! Dimensions: 126x55x184cm.

This chest of drawers is in good unrestored antique condition, with traces appropriate to its age, over 200 years old! Not all handles are still original, a smaller handle has been placed on the bottom left, some chips and cracks in the veneer.

Large antique narrow gilded mirror from the 19th century, completely in classical baroque style, France circa 1870. The mirror still has its original mirror plate that is decoratively weathered and mocked, which is very desirable, the frame is decorated with acanthus leaves all around, mainly decorated very ornately at the top and bottom, unfortunately the mirror was once painted over with gold paint, which does damage the authenticity somewhat, under the paint is the original gold leaf.
