About the Item
A beautiful, rustic antique olive larder or pie cabinet cupboard that dates from the late 1900s in Spain. These cabinets were used in kitchens throughout eastern Europe, for food storage. It is in good condition for its age and has recently been waxed and buffed... the olive glows and it is a rich yellow oive color. The cabinet offers ample storage with seven deep drawers that run vertically down the left hand side and a cupboard, with the door and original metal vent. The door swings easily on the original external hinges, meaning it will open fully - allowing easy access to the cupboard interior with two replacement pine shelves. The door closes and locks with an old key.
This piece lends a rustic farmhouse accent in almost any room of your home... kitchen, bar area, or in a bedroom. A truly old yet highly functional piece! Condition commensurate with age and use. This is a rustic piece with natural flaws and signs of wear in the wood throughout. Hardware is original. Note the dovetails in the drawers and on the top. Drawers glide smoothly and door opens easily. Tasseled key works and is removable if you choose to lock the entire cabinet. Waxed with Fiddes Supreme Wax in Antique Brown... just buff with and old t-shirt to remove any smudges. The beautiful wood glow increases with age and buffing!
