Bielecky Brothers Vintage Wrapped Rattan and Cane Six Drawer Chest or Cabinet
About the Item
A vintage marked and documented Bielecky Brothers wrapped rattan and cane chest of six drawers. Bielecky Brothers has a long history in the United States, starting in 1903 when the Bielecky Brothers emigrated from Poland to Queens, New York. From the Bielecky Brothers website, "In the 1920’s Bielecky Brothers were one of the first to align themselves with the emerging interior design profession, creating an eclectic variety of custom made furniture manufacturer for individual decorators... At the “American Home Decorating Show” in 1951, the Bielecky exhibit attracted numerous designers including Billy Baldwin who created an elegant collection of “wrapped cane” furniture for the company." This Bielecky Brothers six drawer chest has gorgeous proportions and scale. It is marked inside the top drawers and is marked on the back of the piece as well. - Condition:Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Minor fading. In good vintage condition with age appropriate wear. Some of the wrapped rattan pieces are broken or a little loose. There is some light staining / fading on the top of the piece as well as some areas where the varnish or coating is worn.
