About the Item
A fine Antique Chest with highly figured mahogany, strong French form and original Fossil stone top in grays and white with notable and very decorative patterning. With three drawers, including a top drawer with escutcheon. The chest has one thinner top drawer over three large drawers.
Dimensions: 51” wide by 23.75” deep by 39.75” high.
Condition: Please see detail photos. Restoration recommended. Various signs of age include stable age cracks to the sides, sporadic chipping and veneer losses, the stone top with rim chips to sides, front and back. While there are keys, the two middle drawers have locks that are not installed as well as missing escutcheons. Despite the wear the chest retains a commanding and handsome presentation.
