About the Item
Elegant Transition style chest of drawers, a pivotal period between Louis XV and Louis XVI (circa 1760-1775), characterized by a subtle synthesis of rococo curves and neoclassical geometric lines.
The native wood frame is veneered with filleted marquetry, forming refined frames on the drawers and sides.
The slightly curved front features a central projection, typical of the Transition aesthetic, highlighting the balance between flexibility and rigor.
The chest of drawers opens with two large drawers without crossbars, highlighted by chiseled and gilded bronze hardware: keyholes, pull handles, and corner pieces, all in a sober and elegant decor. The interior of the drawers is covered in a pretty green fabric.
The top is topped with a beautiful gray Saint Anne marble.
