About the Item

A strikingly attractive, very impressive and unusually tall Scandinavian teak eight drawer Mid Century chest in lovely vintage condition. Most likely made in Denmark in the 1970s, this commanding tallboy or highboy will add gorgeous two-tone colouring and an unmistakably cool late-Mid-Century-chic aesthetic to any interior. Very rare for being so tall and having eight drawers, this ‘Semainier-plus-one’ chest of drawers has a very-1970s Minimalist-Cubist design and features richly toned and beautifully grained teak veneer juxtaposed by Campaign-style golden metallic handles, which really make it pop. All in all this is a fabulous looking and extremely useful chest of drawers, which allows you to make the most of its eight drawers whilst bringing fantastic colouring and a knockout, trés-chic 1970s look to any setting. CONDITION This is in good-to-very-good vintage condition. Reassuringly heavy and structurally sound, it has only a few minor, to-be-expected signs of wear to show its age, which are really quite hard to notice thanks to the rich colouring and detailed grain patterning of the teak, including scuffs to one side and front foot, a previously repaired small knock to the rear of the top and age-related wear to the golden finish on the handles. Overall this is a knockout piece in lovely vintage condition, and if well looked after, it should be just as breath-taking and usable for generations to come – please see the photos.
