About the Item

Extraordinary pair of tall skyscraper chests of drawers crafted from highly figured ribbon Avodire wood. They were constructed by the Holland Furniture Company in the 1940s. Donald Deskey at this time was also designing for the Baker furniture company which had just relocated their factory to Holland Michigan as well as the Widdicomb Company which was located only 30 minutes away in Grand Rapids. This pair is absolutely amazing with its clean lines and simplistic functionality. It bridges the gap between Art Deco design and Postwar Modernism. We also have a matching vanity and a nightstand from this series available as well.
