Each of his pieces of furniture is a unique piece that is created by hand. The haptic quality of his furniture is particularly important for Eckehard Weimann. The touching of the pieces is expressly desired, they should have a practical use for the owner, but should touch him emotionally. Since 1994, his studio has been producing "individuals from wood". Some of these individuals are gently wavy, soft and sculpted, others appear edgy and rough. Often Eckehard Weimann hides the source material under a skin of paint and metal. He likes to experiment with unusual materials. Thus, some of his work is covered with metals such as gold, bronze or titanium... Weimann's handmade objects are the result of his precise experience in various craft disciplines, which combine the aesthetic concepts of a sculptor with the functional thinking of a furniture maker and master carpenter.
