Early 19th Century Curved Cherry Wood Chest of Drawers

About the Item

Chest of drawers "en arbalète" in Louis XV style. Circa 1st half of the 19th century. Made of solid cherry wood. On a slightly trapezoidal ground plan, widening towards the back, a cherrywood body with coffered sides, multiple curved fronts and only slightly protruding moulded top. Three drawers lockable with the original locks. The angled, rounded pilaster strips and the multiple curved frame end in 4 slightly S-shaped protruding feet. One key is original, 2 others have been added. The brass drop handles and key plates were fitted at a later date. Dimensions: 90 cm high / 35.43 inch high, 130 cm wide / 51.18 inch wide, 60 cm deep / 23.62 inch deep. Internal dimensions of the drawers: 28.5 cm high / 11.22 inch high, 108 cm wide / 42.51 inch wide, 50 cm deep / 19.68 inch deep. Good condition ready to use. The drawers run smoothly. Minor damage to the foot at the back left (a piece has been attached). Entire surface polished with wax. An authentic piece with a very beautiful warm wood tone and great age patina.
