A striking early 20th century French Louis XVI style commode, handcrafted from walnut by skilled artisans in Narbonne, an historic medieval city in the Occitanie region of southern France, circa 1910. Featuring a beautifully bleached or washed finish, this elegant chest is topped with a pristine rectangular shaped white Carrara marble. The façade showcases two short drawers above two full-length drawers, all adorned with original bronze laurel leaf ring pulls and oval escutcheons with ribbon and bow details. Carved and fluted stiles frame the piece. Raised on turned toupie feet ending in wood sabots. With its clean neoclassical lines, this versatile commode effortlessly complements both contemporary and traditional interiors.
