An English Charles I Inlaid Chest of Drawers, 17th Century Description: The rectangular plank top with a cyma reversa moulding above a drawer with two faux drawers to the front, each with bone chevrons within a moulded surround, centred on a panel with bone delineating a diamond grid pattern, between paired carved pilasters descending in a repeating pattern down either end of the chest, the frieze drawer above two cupboard doors with carved and inlaid architectural and geometric ornamentation, the doors opening to three frieze drawers, raised on ball feet. Provenance: Private Old Australian Collection Acquired in UK in 1960s. Dimensions: Height: 102.5cm Width: 95cm Depth: 60cm
