English Painted Wood Four-Drawer Commode with Scrollwork Motifs, circa 1880

About the Item

An English painted wood four-drawer commode from the late 19th century, with old paint, new scrollwork motifs and turnip feet. Born in England during the later years of the 19th century, this charming commode features a rectangular top with beveled edges sitting above four drawers (two small ones over two larger ones). These drawers are adorned with a richly painted decor of scrollwork accented with foliage. The commode is raised on four turned turnip feet. With its clean lines, old paint and lovely decor, this English four-drawer commode circa 1880 will bring a relaxed touch of elegance to any home, particularly in a bedroom or living room.
