English Walnut and Satinwood Inlaid Petite Chest or Bachelor's Chest, circa 1715

About the Item

A fine and rare circa 1715 English late Queen Anne, early George I period small scale dressing or bachelor's chest, the walnut veneered case having bookmatched quarter-veneered and featherbanded top with a molded edge above a brushing slide and four long graduated drawers with satinwood featherband inlay borders and stamped brass hardware, raised on original bracket feet. Provenance: Previously sold through Kentshire Galleries, New York, New York, and a Christie's New York 'Important English Furniture' sale in 2001; private Connecticut collection thence.
