Exceptional modernist commode/chest of drawers by Jacques Adnet (1901-1984). Art Déco, France. Macassar ebony and walnut veneer. Note : macassar ebony (diospyros celebica) is not inscribed on the Cites list of endangered species. 3 drawers with 1 original key opening the 3 locks. Edition: La Compagnie des Arts Français (directed by J Adnet), model created around 1928. Dimensions : height 84cm, length 125cm, depth 48cm. Bibliography : - La Demeure Française, N°2, summer 1928, similar model with a drawers variant pp20-21 presented in a bedroom designed by Jacques Adnet at the 18th "Salon des Artistes Décorateurs".
