About the Item
A fine diminutive Empire Chest dating to the 1st half of the 19th Century in original condition. The Chest with book matched flame mahogany drawer fronts with great color, refined round brass drawer pulls with delicate incised design, dove-tail drawer construction and original locks with a key and the body of the chest resting on Stylized Lion Paw front feet. The top is a double edge Gris Marble with striking and very elegant veining which is original.
The Chest measures 36.5” wide by 33” high by 17” deep.
Condition: The original condition with only acceptable wear including some minor edge nicks, wear to the legs with paint losses and a stable age split to the right facing side which is mentioned for accuracy and does not affect the very fine and stately presentation.
