French 18th Century Louis XV Period Walnut Commode Bordelaise

About the Item

An exceptional and handsome French 18th century Louis XV period walnut commode Bordelaise. The bombée shaped commode is raised on four scrolled cabriole legs below an arbalest shaped frieze with scrolled carvings. At the center are four drawers, two larger below two smaller ones, each with pierced brass keyhole escutcheons and pulls. Above each leg are recessed carved cabochons and carved recessed mottled panels. The arbalest-shaped top displays the warm and rich patina found throughout the piece.
