About the Item
A French carved and bleached oak commode from the 19th century. This antique chest from France has a rectangular-shaped top, with Neoclassical case which houses three full-sized drawers flanked within fluted and chandelle carved side posts, and presented upon four petite turned legs. Each drawer has a diamond paneled motif, a repeating tulip trim outlines their rectangular shapes and makes a circular pattern at the center. The drawers are fitted with an exquisite pair of pulls and escutcheon in the circular center. The apron has a downward facing breakfront design and lovely flower heads are carved along the front. The bleached oak is complimented with a custom grey accent trim. This 19th century French commode, with its wonderfully appointed details and light finish, will be an outstanding case piece for your storage and display needs.
