About the Item
An elegant Louis XVI-style commode from France, early 20th century, its mahogany case has been recently refinished to fully appreciate the stunning, flamed effect over the wide drawers. The white marble top is traced in a fine web of gray veining, shaped to turreted front corners and spotted with a few areas of beige patina. Below, the three drawers exhibit striking grain patterns restored to their natural glow under a smooth, satin finish while vertical fluting on the columnar pilasters complements the flamed striations. Patinated brass hardware includes pairs of ring pulls–to easily slide open the drawers–and coordinating escutcheons over the working locks. Conical legs descend from the turrets at the corners before tapering into brass sabot feet at the floor. Cleaned, tightened, and polished with a French paste wax this gorgeous dresser is ready for your interior. Please view the detailed images to see the current condition. One key included.
