About the Item

A French console chest with tambour doors and its original marble top, from the early 20th century. This antique chest from France features the original rectangular-shaped marble top (with rounded front corners) which rests atop a case which houses two reed-carved front doors flanked within rounded side posts that are adorn with brass outlined trim and decorative brass embellishments. The skirting has a clean molding and softly rounded corners which carry the them from the upper case and marble. This piece is presented upon six bulb style feet with gold toned egg-n-dart moldings about their upper perimeters. Please note that there have been some prior repairs to one of the feet, as well as the backside of the marble top (see additional images). This early 20th century server console with original marble top, brass accents, and reeded tambour doors is just over 6 feet in length.
