George II C18th Bachelors Mahogany Chest of Drawers Leather Brushing Slide C1750

About the Item

A George II period, mahogany bachelors chest of drawers, with leather skiver brushing slide, circa 1750. This chest of drawers of modest proportions, with oblong shaped, beautifully figured solid top with moulded edge. Brushing slide with traditional green coloured leather hide skiver, with tooled and gilt border, with small brass knob handles. Bank of four full width drawers with moulded edges, brass double swan neck brass handles, brass oval plate escutcheons, and locks, all graduated in height. Moulded base and raised on bracket feet. Oak drawer linings, with bases running front to back. A quality chest of drawers. In good working condition and very well presented. It has been through our workshop and fully serviced, sensitively cleaned and waxed, and now is very much ready for use. Dimensions: This chest measures approximately 84 cm (33'') tall, 96.5 cm (38'') wide, and 51.75 cm (20.375'') deep. Condition: Please see the pictures for details of the items condition. - This chest of drawers is in an overall good condition, commensurate with its age, and is structurally sound and sturdy. Several marks and blemishes in keeping with age and use. Some minor, high quality running repairs. All drawers run well. No loose joints. Fully serviced. Wax polished, now ready for use. - As with all vintage & antique furniture there will be signs of use, marks, wear & tear, etc.
