About the Item
George III period chest on chest, English, Circa 1765. A strikingly handsome piece - the upper case displays a flat, blind fretted quarter column in the Gothic taste of Chippendale. Dentil attached crown molding. Raised on original shaped bracket feet. Original bail & rosette brass handles. Brushing slide sits just below the bold waist molding. Batwing type escutcheons. Mahogany with oak secondary wood. Minor molding restorations.
