A Swedish Gustavian-style marquetry inlaid chest. The rosewood and walnut veneered case having 3 drawers and a finely detailed marquetry inlay with penwork details, the square and tapered legs terminating in bronze sabots. The top drawerfront having cast bronze frieze. The original top in a stone from northern Sweden, having squared front corners. The chest center drawer signed by maker, a master carpenter, dated 1945.
