A Rare Howard & Sons English Antique Hand Crafted Cherrywood Chest of Four Drawers With Brass Drop Handles Made in the 1920's With Attached Porcelain Label and Inscribed To Drawer Top The business was opened in 1820. Their sofas and chairs became popular during the Victorian era amongst the upper class.They collaborated with Gillows of Lancaster. They supplied furniture to the Savoy Hotel in London. Howard & Sons received a number of Royal Warrants of Appointment. Some authentic designs of Howard & Sons furniture nowadays are in the State Hermitage museum, Saint-Petersburg, Russia.     Repaired: Has had some refinishing, however retaining the patina and aging. Replacements made: Cabinet has had two new brass handles (bottom drawer). Refinished. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor fading. In structural condition, with surface wear and patina in keeping with age and use.

A Regency Bowfront chest of three long graduated brass handled drawers, upon bracket feet provenance from estates of lord & lady charteris stanway house. Bought at auction from Chorleys. Stanway House is a Jacobean manor house, located near the village of Stanway in Gloucestershire, England. The manor of Stanway was owned by Tewkesbury Abbey for 800 years[1] then for 500 years by the Tracy family and their descendants, the Earls of Wemyss and March. Stanway House, originally constructed in the late 16th and early 17th century for the Tracy family, is a Grade I listed building. The gardens are Grade I listed on the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens. J.M. Barrie, creator of Peter Pan, was a frequent visitor during summers in the 1920s, until 1932.
