Italian 18th Century Louis XV Period Rosewood, Mahogany, And Satinwood Commode

About the Item

An outstanding Italian 18th century Louis XV period Rosewood, Kingwood, burl Walnut and bronze commode. The two drawer chest is raised by elegant cabriole legs with fine fitted bronze sabots. Above the beautiful deep arbalest shaped frieze is the most decorative and exceptionally shaped bombee front with two drawers each decorated with wonderfully executed diamond shaped inlaid designs and richly chased foliate bronze pulls and family crest shaped keyhole escutcheons. The sides also display a lovely diamond shaped inlaid design and exceptional bombee shape while the top displays a magnificent quarter veneered burl Walnut top showcasing the stunning wood grain.
