Italian 18th Century Louis XV Period Two Drawer Walnut Bombe Commode

About the Item

An extremely handsome Italian 18th century Louis XV period two-drawer walnut bombée commode from Rome. The chest is raised on four cabriole legs and an arbalest-shaped frieze. Above each leg is rich acanthus leaves carvings. The drawers have brass keyhole escutcheons and display a lovely wood fillet which is repeated at each side and finely carved acanthus leaf at each corner. Inside the drawers are the stunning original spade-shaped locks. Above rests the original Brèche de Sicile marble top.
