Italian 18th Century Louis XV Period Walnut His and Her Commodes

About the Item

An exquisite his and hers pair of Italian 18th century Louis XV period Walnut and patinated bronze commodes. Each three drawer chest is raised by elegant lightly curved legs with fine pierced bronze foliate sabots below the most decorative arbalest shaped frieze. The beautiful bombee shaped front displays three drawers each decorated with stunning veneered Walnut designs with the grain spreading and continuing over each drawer and each displaying lovely richly chased scrolled foliate bronze pulls and fine keyhole escutcheons set on a central inlaid star. The sides and top display exceptional quarter veneered designs also showcasing the sensational Walnut grain centered by a charming finely detailed star and framed within a fine wrap around inlaid fillet.
