About the Item

A handsome and most unique Italian 18th century Florentine st. rosewood and kingwood four drawer commode. The chest is raised by fine cabriole legs which extend to an elegant arbalest shaped frieze. The four drawers each repeat the striking bombé shape of the chest and display richly chased foliate scrolled ormolu pulls and lovely foliate keyhole escutcheons. The warm beautiful rosewood grain is showcased throughout framed within a fine kingwood band. Above is the original Grand Campan marble top with a mottled border.\
