About the Item

A beautiful and extremely decorative Italian 18th century Venetian st. painted chest. The two drawer chest is raised by elegant cabriole legs with fine gilt accents and lovely hand painted floral reserves at the corners. The remarkable scalloped shaped frieze and two drawers at the center display wonderfully executed hand painted colorful blooming flowers and perched birds with exceptional attention to detail framed within a lovely scrolled foliate border. Each drawer displays bronze pulls and fine foliate keyhole escutcheons. The sides and top also display stunning intricately detailed hand painted blooming flowers framed within a similar elegant scrolled foliate border with the top displaying a mottled border and scalloped shaped movement. All original paint and patina throughout.
