An Italian 19th century Baroque Revival style carved walnut figural Cassone chest-trunk. The ornately carved chest, also known as a marriage chest, with an opening top supported with wrought iron hinges, the front centered with a crest and surmounted with female masks and floral motifs, raised on paw-feet topped with male mask. The interior lined with a red fabric, circa 1860.
