About the Item

Italian Louis XV Roman Bombe' shaped commode with original marble top, Circa 1730 This Italian Roman Louis XV commode of a Bombe' shape is inlaid with various precious woods (maple, walnut and burl walnut). The serpentine-shaped Siena yellow marble top sits on a conforming and bombe’ case with a frieze drawer over two larger drawers sans traverse (without dividing crossbar) supported on curved sabre legs with turned and carved tapering gilt wood feet. The corners and feet adorned with stylized acanthus-form Ormolu mounts. Carpet Not included.
