Italian Midcentury Era Biedermeier Style Semainier
About the Item
A fine and notable Biedermeier style seven drawer chest by Guido Zichele, made in Italy for Bloomingdales. The chest is made from cherrywood with a fine and very attractive poplar burl facade having black trim. Very well crafted and having large dovetailed drawers with locks papered in a pleasing green background paper with tiny gold dots and sun symbols. A shaped top drawer over six long drawers. Metal shield form escutcheons with three keys. The original tag with the maker is included.
Condition: Please see detail photos. There are some missing veneer spots on the very top (see photo) and one .25” circle of missing veneer located center top of the third drawer from the top. Otherwise only acceptable age/ use wear, the chest presenting exceptionally well.
