Italian Neoclassical Period 1800s Fruitwood Four-Drawer Commode with Marquetry

About the Item

An Italian neoclassical period fruitwood commode from the early 19th century, with four drawers and marquetry décor. Created in Italy during the early years of the 19th century, this neoclassical chest features a rectangular top with marquetry décor and Vitruvian scroll on the edge, sitting above two narrow drawers adorned with twisted ribbons surrounding by banding. Two larger drawers below, decorated with a Classical marquetry bust depicted in profile surrounded by rinceaux, complete the ensemble.
